Did you know this job was shut down?... TWICE??? The reasons are answered below by Frank Sinatra and Coraline.
Tyler, Alpine Arbor, takes 'r down. This old post was badly deteriorated at the base. (Pardon my language in this video.) You can hear the crew say, "The core was NOT good!" ... rotted and infested with ants. AND the base's size/diameter went from 27" down to 13".
Tree came from Bob and Yvette Singer's lot next to mine on Rustic! Pretty cool, eh? Tiiiiimmbberrrr!!! January 3, 2022
Sittin' pretty on blocks. Thank you Tyler and crew from Alpine Arbor.
Bringing sign to my cabin for upcoming intensive spa days. Resting happily on massive supports, and covered for winter. (Top of the post went from 27" down to about 24". Very top heavy.)
A VERY kind neighbor, Ray O'Brien, saw me trying to put up the Timberland Banner myself. Ray came to the rescue. THANK YOU, RAY!

Rebar delivery for concrete base. Building the rebar brace for new base, prepping for concrete.
Pouring the concrete: Here comes da truck · Set up and inspect mud · Pouring... 5 yards of concrete, 19,500 lbs ...and pouring · Hey John! Can you see anything? · Removed plywood to expose new base · finishing 'r up · Tah-Dahhhhh! · Dirt and pine needles moved back in place
Frank Sinatra explains... First attempt at taking our sign down, May 24th, 2021. See the Flying Squirrel with black beady little eyes? She's to the left of the knot. THAT is angry "Mmmama."
What shut the job down August 10, 2022? Coraline explains... "Cal Trans"... shut the job down.
Next up, restoring the old sign, which turned into building a new sign... see Phase 3: Final Chapter.
